Our lab explores the following topics with a focus on the mucosal interface:
1. Interactions of the commensal microbiota with viruses (such as murine norovirus or MNoV) and bacterial pathogens, and the regulation of these interactions by the intestinal innate immune system.
2. Viral evolution and phenotypic alterations in different immunological and anatomical contexts, using murine norovirus (MNoV) as a model.
3. Exploration of the effects of the microbial exposome (microbiome and pathogens) on the maintenance of the immune system and responses to challenges such as vaccination, infection, and environmental insults.
